CenterPoint Energy breaks ground on new facility in Houston’s East End

Houston, February 16 – CenterPoint Energy broke ground today to build a new 122,000 square-foot facility where more than 225 natural gas employees will work in Houston’s East End, contributing to the ongoing revitalization of the community east of downtown Houston.

Cristo Rey Jesuit provides free and reduced-price meals

Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston today announced its policy for providing free and reduced-price meals for students served under the National School Lunch Program and/or School Breakfast Program. Each school or the central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any  interested party.

TPC Group Awards $42,000 in Academic Scholarships to Chavez High School Graduates

HOUSTON (Monday, July 25, 2011) – TPC Group recently announced the recipients of this year’s Mark of Excellence Scholarship awards.  Mr. Salvador Castillo and Mr. Jonathan McAdams, graduates of Chavez High School, in the Houston Independent School District, will each receive a four-year, $20,000 scholarship.

TPC Group Receives Air Permit for Restart of Dehydrogenation Asset

TPC Group Inc. (Nasdaq:TPCG) today announced that it has received the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) air permit necessary for the planned refurbishment, upgrade to air emission controls, and restart of one of its idle dehydrogenation units. Construction of the required new components for the system, along with refurbishment of the existing unit, began promptly following receipt of the permit. The Company has also completed the primary phase of engineering on the project that commenced in January of this year, and the Company's Board of Directors has approved moving forward with the next phase of engineering, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2011.
