Our partnership with the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce (GHWCC) and Houston Independent School District brings STEM town USA to elementary schools in the East End. This year about 36 third grade girls from Cornelius, Port Houston and Park Place Elementary will be exposed to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math though fun-real world career activities. The first week they are building a dog house and designing a park by taking the role of mapmakers and architects. Women volunteers will lead the girls in two hour sessions once a month. At the end of the school year the schools will compete for the "best place to live" award at the Community Showcase. Our goal is to encourage girls to pursue STEM careers by showing them the fun side of math and science. The students progress will be tracked through college to follow the impact of this program. We thank all our volunteers and partners for this incredible program. For more information on either sponsorship or volunteer involvement, please contact Samantha Reyna at 713-926-0960 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
